Sociological perspectives on the view of the state in a globalized geopolitical order

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to show the importance of the sociological perspective forunderstanding the state in the globalized geopolitical order. It is about answering the basicproblem question: Does the shaped perspective of sociological thinking affect the view of thestate in the globalized geopolitical order? A working thesis can be put forward that it is possi-ble to identify two basic perspectives that have such an impact on the contemporary view of the state as a subject of geopolitics in the global world. These perspectives can be describedas problem-systemic on the one hand, and semiotic-interactionist on the other. Therefore, thearticle is a meta-theoretical look at sociology not only as a discipline of a neutral descriptionof social modernity, but also as an important factor shaping it. The dominance of one or theother perspective is important especially in the description of the geopolitical conditions ofthe state in the globalized world.
