Summary/Abstract: The signing of Kyoto Protocol in 1997 ratified the decision made by the industrialized member countries and European Community to drastically reduce the CO2 emmisions. To realise this objective, the development of power supplying systems based on renewal energy becomes really imperative. The photovoltaic element has become the most significant one. The Sun, the solar energy, offers the main source of energy to the Earth. The daily life issues like: • High prices of electric power supply • Saving of the Earth resources • Environment protection make the use of solar energy really imperative. Albania offers fortunately a great advantage in the sense of a considerable number of annual sunny days. This research will bring a lot of profit to the institutions and to the interested businesses in the use of solar power systems. The European University of Tirana will certainly profit out of this research work after the installation of a similar system. We will work focused on the two following platforms in this paper: Impact on the economy and the environment of the use of solar panels and the reduction of the initial cost in conditions of Albania.
