HOSPITAL ACTIVITIES DURING AN EMERGENCY BASED ON THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC EXPERIENCE

Summary/Abstract: The hospital is an essential part of the health system, which plays a key role in ensuring the health security of the population, including during crisis events. Unfortunately, in the face of a biological threat such as the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the numerous solutions implemented, hospitals did not ensure that all health needs were met. The aim of the article is to present the role of hospitals in emergency situations and to analyse their performance during the COVID-19 pandemic. The article uses the method of analysis of available sources and statistical data and the method of diagnostic survey, a categorised interview technique, focused on the research problem concerning the evaluation of the performance of hospitals by medical personnel during a biological threat such as the pandemic.
