Summary/Abstract: This review article is devoted to the edition of sources entitled Wschodnioeuropejski ruch ludowy w walce z komunistami o zachowanie demokracji po II wojnie światowej. Dokumenty i materiały (W świetle polskich źródeł dyplomatycznych i prasowych) (The Eastern Euro- pean Peasant Movement in the Struggle against the Communists to Preserve Democracy after World War II. Documents and Materials [In the Light of Polish Diplomatic and Press Sources]). Discussing the most relevant elements of this collection, the author intended to make their content more familiar to the audience to facilitate the use of the presented sources. An analysis of documents and materials makes it possible to distinguish several issues that form a particular thematic sequence over a long period or are accumulated around a clearly defined problem, such as leaders and leading activists of people’s parties, opposition activities against the installing communist system, agrarian party activity, the socio-political situation in individual countries, and methods of struggle of communist parties against the opposition. The documents contain a large body of information on the scale and pace of Sovietisation of the countryside and forms of peasant resistance. Based on the published sources, we can reconstruct the involvement of peasants and villagers in the struggle against Sovietisation and trace the process of the destruction of a strong ideological and political movement.
