Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the life and actions of Marian Krykiewicz. It attempts to reconstruct hisprofessional, social and artistic activity, divided into two main time periods. Born in Lviv, thisgraduate of the local University of Technology was an architect and city councilor during the SecondPolish Republic. After World War II, he settled permanently in Olsztyn, where he worked asan inspector in the Reconstruction and Industrial Departments of the Office of the GovernmentPlenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland for the Masurian District and the Provincial Office –later in the Residential Buildings Management Board – and as a designer in the Provincial DesignOffice of Rural Construction. At the same time, he performed various social functions, including:president of the Management Board of the “Caritas” branch and keeper of monuments. A separatepart of his interests was filled with amateur artistic work in the field of painting and drawing, withparticular emphasis on regional historic architecture.
