Summary/Abstract: The orthodox religious journalistic speech is considered a paradox because it is at the crossroads/intersection of structural, stylistic, and content constraint, which is determined by stereotype, conservationism, and innovation. The orthodox religious speech, conceived as a one-way activity from the emitter (journalist) to the receiver (reader audience), is based on religious journalism and aims to provide the reading public with a series of reactions, whether of knowledge and cognitive understanding or affective sensitivity and behavioral manifestation. All of these serve as a guide for the reader towards the transformation of his soul's states, offering finalities in the areas of: pedagogy, psychology, ethics, and theology. We illustrate in this article the findings of an analysis based on stereotypes of orthodox religious journalistic speech. To this extent we used a corpus comprised of selected texts, spanning the years 2021-2023. These articles appeared in the publications “Lumina” and “Lumina de Duminică”. The formal-functional and content analyses revealed that the stereotype for this type of language can be found in both form and composition. In terms of innovation, it cannot be identified at any level within the speech. Instead, we can identify only the journalistic preferences, which are materialized quantitatively and expressed in formality, functionality, and content. The orthodox religious journalistic speech in the “Lumina” is discovered through the oxymoronic dimension to maintain a certain distance and space from the current manner of speech, without losing communication force, affective and emotional involvement. As a result, a balance between tradition and modernity, sacredness and accessibility is achieved.
