Summary/Abstract: While describing the first months of the full-scale Russian war in Ukraine the presented article considers the materiality of art during wartime: the destruction and appropriation of cultural heritage and infrastructure, the risk of being involved in violent operations and losing a life. Furthermore, the essay problematizes the value and symbolism of objects and art and deals with artworks as a strategy of intellectual and historical resistance.
