Summary/Abstract: The theater performance is full of recognizable actions and structures that nurture the spirit, imagination, ethics and aesthetics of man. How the actors bring all this closer to the viewer depends to a large extent on the director. The magical world of the theater offers the possibility of common knowledge of universal values that are necessary for a healthy society. And whether, and to what extent, such values will be focused on their fullness, the key role is played by the theater director. Through theatrical direction, through the reading of the work, through the idea of a play that is different from the idea of a textual thread, theater experiencers and actors more easily find a path of positive solutions that leads to a relaxing resolution of the gloomy events that all individuals are exposed to in gloomy times. As an extremely complex action, theater direction applies and uses stage means that have a provocative effect on individuals, in the sense that they never agree that the world of imagination, illusion and play offered by the theater be left in some distant corner of forgotten consciousness. All dramatic texts and all theater directions observed in a certain characteristic period, such as the middle of the second and third millennium, and which were created in the theater system of Bosnia and Herzegovina are not sufficient by themselves and are not given once and for all. But all these searches must not only satisfy the curiosity of theater workers but must be a matter of critical examination of who in a certain period signed theater directions and in what way he achieved the unbreakable bond between director and actor, i.e. theater and audience.
