Summary/Abstract: The author of the article briefly approaches some aspects of interest regarding the cyber space in Armenia, especially as an important platform for information and expression of civil society. At first, cyber space and cyber security are defined. Then, a series of threats against the cyber space are mentioned, underlining the fact that the state has recorded various cases of data protection violations as well as blocking or removing content on digital platforms. The author then presents the legal framework on cyber security and data protection, as well as a series of cyber attacks on civil society representatives or on international organisations and state institutions. Finally, the need to reform the legislative framework of the cyber security sector is highlighted.
