Summary/Abstract: The settlement of Modrac near Lukavac is located on the northeastern slopes of Tirinovac hill, on the left bank of the river Spreca, opposite the mouth of the river Jala in Spreca. This settlement was mentioned under the name "Modrica" for the first time in 1519 as part of the imperial estate in the Dolnja Tuzla county. The paper presents and analyzes the detailed results of the population census of the settlement of Modrac, which was conducted in 1266 according to the Gregorian calendar, i.e. 1850/1851 according to the Gregorian calendar, carried out by the Ottoman administration in Bosnia. The settlement of Modrac is listed in the Dolnja Tuzla, an administrative-territorial unit of Zvornik. Data provides an overview of all houses and households in the settlement, families, but exclusively male, with information on occupation and appearance. Based on the population census from the period of Austro-Hungarian administration, the administrative-territorial position and demographic-social characteristics of the Modrac settlement in 1879, 1885, 1895 and 1910 are explained. The analyzed data also led to a clearer picture of the religious life of this settlement. Namely, until 1910, only Muslim population lived in Modrac, and the existence of one school, "imam" and mutavelija was recorded. In addition to the school, the residents of Modrac supplemented the content of their religious life by organizing a feast on the river Spreca.
