Summary/Abstract: In the period between the two world wars, there were no musical groups in northeastern Bosnia schools. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, since 1920, the only regional music group has been active in Sarajevo school. The most significant activity in musical life in this period was performed by performers ensembles. Mostly, these were choirs that worked for singing societies and others instrumental orchestras and ensembles. For the reasons mentioned, there was a need for research, by collecting, revealing and analyzing data, with the basic goal of seeing the facts about activities of singing societies in this period and their contribution to the development of musical culture.
