Summary/Abstract: A series of political-social events happened in the Russian Empire in 1917, during the First World War. These events made huge impact on the military situation on the Eastern front, causing Romania to sign the “peace” treaty imposed by the Central Powers, having immense reverberations in London. The British war cabinet was alarmed by the consequences the Russian revolution had on the war effort of its Eastern ally and was also concerned about the danger that loomed ahead, namely the collapse of the Romanian- Russian front, where a big number of German-Austrian-Hungarian divisions were immobilised.
