Summary/Abstract: Zebrafish is now an excellent model in the world of research, with its genome making it a relevant subject of study for research into human diseases in order to understand cellular mechanisms. It is also easy to manipulate, small, transparent, and inexpensive. Nowadays, it is increasingly used to study diabetes and its complications at different levels of the body. In this way, in the present context, we are describing here some zebrafish-induced model of diabetes, focusing on the relevance of their associated neuropsychiatric manifestations, oxidative stress, gut microbiota, neuropathy and other relevant aspects.
