Summary/Abstract: In the literary reception of Adam Mickiewicz´s Pan Tadeusz (1834) there is an ongoing dispute over its idyllic elements. More important than certain idyllic motives seems the fact that Romanticism deonitively transformed the idyll from a genre into a chronotope. This transformation 3 in a certain way the end of the idyllic genre 3 is the actual prerequisite for particular romantic topoi and also for the poetological structure of Pan Tadeusz itself.
