Beyond the algorithm. School and community building

Summary/Abstract: In this article, I look at the category of community. I am interested in communities that cannot be enclosed within the framework of instrumental rationality (I refer to Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno) or computational capitalism (Bernard Stiegler’s term). I analyse the functioning of the school in the context of neoliberal hegemony and try to rethink education as a technology for building a disinterested subject capable of transcending the order of private interests and the logic of algorithms. Two books prove helpful in my reflection: Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and State of Entanglement by Roksana Jędrzejewska-Wróbel.
