Summary/Abstract: The setting of the complex exhibition “My Dear – Toys from Prehistory until Present” deals with the cultural phenomenon of childhood and growing up through the millennia. Within the field of ethnographic museology, views on the individual’s attitude towards collective, personal and social maturation through different periods of childhood, youth and old age were expressed. A part of the exhibition is also a children’s theater, in particular, the Puppet Theater from Zaječar. Through selected articles from the local newspaper Timok from the time of the inception and initial upswing of the Puppet theater, one of the messages of the exhibition is expressed – one which transposes the problems of preserving and maintaining identity within the framework of a museologically conceived presentation of the culture of childhood and growing up in a unique intersection of time/ space after the end of the Second World War.
