Summary/Abstract: The defence planning process is fundamental in preparing the country for defence. But in order to be such, it must be legally very well regulated and tied to the overall strategic planning of ensuring national security. The article substantiates why defence planning is the key to ensuring national security; provides a brief description of the planning process and its implementation; and highlights some essential challenges, according to the author.
