Summary/Abstract: A topic of great relevance, relevance and depth in the current musical context, in direct continuity with the values honored during this year, it seemed to us to be the “Romanian requiem” or, in other words, the choral / vocal-instrumental processing of the orthodox memorial service. The title, as provocative in appearance as it is fruitful and expressive in essence, is a faithful illustration of how certain Romanian composers have chosen to pay homage to those who have fallen asleep, but under the auspices of the genre enshrined in the Roman Catholic tradition, that of the funeral mass (or the requiem). The most interesting thing to see is the way in which three famous Romanian composers, Ștefan Niculescu, Marțian Negrea and Sabin Drăgoi, chose to reproduce the specificity of the Romanian Orthodox spirituality from the ritual of remembering the dead in the guise of the musical genre patented by the Western Roman Catholic tradition.Basically, what we will follow during this research is both the explanation of the formula „Romanian requiem”, which raises some semantic clarifications, and the brief analysis of two vocal-symphonic creations and a choral one that are under the sign of this bold title: „Pomenire, un recviem românesc” („Remembrance, a Romanian Requiem”) - by Ștefan Niculescu, „Recviem Pomenire” („Remembrance Requiem”) - belonging to Marțian Negrea, respectively „Requiem românesc (Parastas)”/ „Romanian Requiem
