A Unique Sermon, in Manuscript, by Bishop Nicolae Ivan

Summary/Abstract: The manuscripts which contains old sermons prove the continuity for the mission of preaching with an exemplary zeal and can be a real source of inspiration for the content and theme of the current sermon. Present study contains a analyze of a sermon in manuscript of Bishop Nicolae Ivan, from the archives of the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj, which, according to a later note with pencil, leads us to say that it was written in 1930. After transcribing the present sermon, we have accompanied it in this research by a commentary that contains, in general, the following elements: sermon type, major themes, plan, significant content elements, scriptural argumentation, stylistic strategies, themes and ideas for today’s sermon.
