Summary/Abstract: This paper is an attempt to explain and revisit the concept of work-life balance. The aim of this article is to systematically review existing literature and deepen knowledge about work-life balance (WLB) and its relationship with other forms of reconciliation of private life and work. An effort is made to cover in a conceptual framework the vast knowledge of work-life balance. It highlights the evolution of that notion and puts it together with the notion of work-life integration. Specifically, the two main perspective of work-life balance issues are presented: employee’s and employer’s ones. Moreover, different practices of WLB are presented and put in the context of nowadays social and legal challenges.
