Summary/Abstract: The author investigates the question of the future of education from the context of the subject of education. In contrast to (neo)humanistic tradition, contemporary educational tendencies show a distinctive inclination towards the adjustment of the educational principles with demands of the labor market, instead with the complete development of man. Thus, the idea of man as a subject of education is lost in the whole process and pupils and students become objects. It is, however, possible to regain subjectivity by including humanistic elements of education in the pragmatic model.
