Summary/Abstract: In the article, features of the functioning of the person-number indicators of the 2nd and 3rd person plural of the 2nd past tense (evidential or modal perfect) in Modern Komi are considered. Material from the literary language is consistently compared with data from the dialects. The analysis shows that the variability of the person-number indicators in question is characteristic of both, dialects and the literary language. It is noticed that the formant present in most dialects is also most often used in the literary language. The general trend in the development of the endings is defined as a tendency to equalize their use in literary language and dialects.
