Summary/Abstract: The paper provides linguistic analysis of more than 40 mythonyms denoting the house spirit in the Komi-Zyryan language. Among the analyzed names both original lexical units (separate lexemes and phrases) and those borrowed from Russian folk dialects are presented, but the group of original names significantly prevails in quantitative terms. Methods and lexico-semantic models of the spirit nomination are revealed as compared to co-related nominative units in other Finno-Ugric languages. An interpretation of some nominative units with unclear motivation is proposed. The main source of the research material are dialect dictionaries of the Komi-Zyryan language and mythological and folklore publications on the Komi. Data from lexicographic sources of other Finno-Ugric languages, etymological dictionaries and studies on East Slavic demonology are also involved.
