Summary/Abstract: The study traces the historical presence of Bulgarian musical folklore in teaching aids from different periods of school education. Presents the included musical-folkloric elements in modern music education programs in preschool and school education. It offers ideas for enriching the daily work of teachers to teach folklore knowledge with modern, interactive and fun methods to learners. It touches on the question of the role and importance of Bulgarian musical folklore for adolescents and the need to motivate the young generation to preserve and transmit the national musical culture to the future.
