Summary/Abstract: Technological and scientific development offer new possibilities in communicationand education. In particular, multimedia applications are a modern tool that can beused by church communities, with the aim of spreading the Gospel with immediacyand synchronicity to various recipients around the world. These applications can alsobe used in church education, aiming at a learning centered on discovery knowledge.The present assignment refers to the perspectives of the utilization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the church field. At the same time, it researchesvarious digital applications, which are based on multimedia and favor the transmissionof the perennial Christian message by combining many forms, such as text, image, animation,sound and video. In this context, the necessity of witnessing in Christ in thedigital world is highlighted and the benefits of interactivity – interaction betweentransmitter and receiver are presented. Finally, the assignment concludes with specificproposals and examples of the utilization of such applications with the use of mobiledevices. These examples refer to Christian witness and communication, preaching aswell as church catechism and Christian education.
