Music and digital art composition in private piano lessons

Summary/Abstract: The research is based on my teaching practice of one-to-one piano lessons, which are conducted at an American International School with students between the ages of four and seventeen. The topic of interest is the connection between composing an art piece and composing a music piece, as both fields of art begin with a composition. Starting with digital drawing followed by improvisation on the piano, are explored together with students who have no knowledge in both arts. The research familiarizes the children with composing via a digital artwork, and linking it to their personalized music creation.
