Summary/Abstract: The only thing standing between severe environmental degradation and uncontrolledphenomenon of “climate migrants” is time. We know with almost certainty that they will appearduring this century and based on statistics, we know that they will also head towards the EuropeanUnion among other destinations. However, there is no legislative framework designed to preventthe emergence of a legal or crisis vacuum. In this paper, we analyze the legal framework and theresponse of the European Union in the face of the threat/issue that “climate migration” maypresent.
