Summary/Abstract: The International Conference in Tokyo on 21-22 January 2002, dedicated to the reconstruction of Afghanistan, affirms that the international community is willing to participate in the reconstruction of Afghanistan and thus supports the Interim Authority under the leadership of Hamid Karzai. At the conference, the author points out, some donor countries made long- and short-term commitments, so that the aggregate amount was more than $ 4,5 billion. Moreover, some countries offered support in kind, without specifying a certain monetary value.
