Summary/Abstract: In 1948, Władysław Smólski decided to publish a collection of satire columns previously printed in "Szpilki" magazine. The typescript was submitted to the Main Office of Control of Press, Publication and Public Performances (GUKPPiW) just before the 1st National Satirical Congress on November 8, 1948, and the Szczecin conference (January 20–21, 1949), when censorship was becoming increasingly restrictive. The draft of the book received ten reviews, nine of which were negative and so was not accepted for print. The aim of the article is to expose the negative censorship reviews drawn up in 1948 at the GUKPPiW and to present the position in which the writer found himself at that time, and who, before the outbreak of World War II, had been known, among other things, for farces and humoresques.
