Summary/Abstract: The biggest problem of interpretation in contraventional law is given by the choice of matter to complete the often lacunae provisions of Government Ordinance no. 2/2001. If initially, the framework law was supplemented only with the provisions of the civil procedure code, by Law no. 76/2012 criminal law was also introduced as a complementary matter. If theoretically the criminal law is applied with regard to the provisions of the material contraventional law while the civil procedure completes the procedural provisions of the framework law, in reality, however, in many situations the provisions of the criminal procedure are applied directly or indirectly. That's why we tried to briefly identify what kind of complementary rules apply in the matter of contravention law.
