Summary/Abstract: The concept of leader, which comes from the French word "leader", finds its equivalent in the Turkish Language Association dictionary (2015) in the words "Leader, Chief". A leader can be defined as the process of one person influencing and directing the activities of others in order to achieve certain personal or group goals under certain conditions. The current definition of pre-school education is a systematic form of education from birth to the age of compulsory education, taking into account the developmental characteristics, individual differences and abilities of children, providing rich stimuli and environmental opportunities, supporting children's healthy physical, emotional, language, social and mental development, laying the foundations of positive personality, revealing their creative aspects, ensuring children's self-confidence, where parents and educators are active (MEB (Ministry of National Education), 2013). Therefore, knowing what the leadership characteristics of preschool teachers are will enable them to set goals that they can reach and thus improve themselves. The determined characteristics may change over time in line with the needs of the society and the individual. While teachers fulfill their educational duties with their knowledge, skills and attitudes, they also affect those around them with their behaviors. For both the personalities and professional careers of preschool teachers, leadership and personality traits are considered as the basic elements that can determine the quality of educational services. In this study, which is a literature review, it is aimed to examine the effect of preschool teachers' leadership characteristics on children, family and colleagues.
