Summary/Abstract: Globalisation requires new approaches to managing change of all sorts, crisis control, armed confrontations and conflict settlement, with the use of all instruments available for society, in an exhaustive range, one that is not limited to the traditional solutions in the field of security. Asymmetric threats cover a wide variety of modes of action (especially terrorism) or security issues (for instance, trafficking). They can occur from a state, by means of an indirect strategy, or from non-state entities, with broader objectives and activities.
