Summary/Abstract: When it comes to privatization, the general perception in society is that the goods and services owned by the state are sold. Another perception related to privatization is the view that state economic enterprises (SOEs) are not efficient. Neither idea undoubtedly emerged spontaneously. Ports have had an important place in the privatization activities that have gained momentum in Turkey since the 1980s. One of the important actors of port privatizations is Turkish Maritime Enterprises (TDİ). Çeşme Port, which is affiliated with TDİ, is one of the ports included in the scope of privatization. In this study, Çeşme Port, which was privatized by the operating rights transfer method in Turkey, was examined.
