Summary/Abstract: Facing Christ’s command to preach the Gospel, the Church, and Religious Orders within it, undertake constant action in the work of evangelizing nations. It is done among peoples who do not yet know Christ or who are seeking Him. In this process should also be included those who, being far from their own homeland, are trying to build a national identity. This is what happened after World War II when thousands of compatriots immigrated to Argentina seeking more humane living conditions. Polish priests and consecrated persons also followed them. Establishing Polish pastoral centres they passed on a patriotic spirit, the faith, teaching the language and love for their native country. Fr. Justinian Maciaszek appeared among the Polish people in Argentina in this current of events. Analysing his life from an early age, through the experience of his deportation to Kolyma and his work on the African continent, one can notice that he was a consequent man in speech and deed. The testimony of Fr. Justinian’s life, personal commitment, love of the Church and Poland meant that the Polish Catholic Centre in Martin Coronado, which was established with his participation, brought together and continues to unite generations of Poles.
