Operation „Wisła” and its False Image

Summary/Abstract: The text discusses the content of the decision made by the prosecutor of the Rzeszów branch of the Institute of National Remembrance in November 2023 to discontinue the investigation into recognizing the operation as a communist crime. According to the author, contrary to the claims of the prosecutor’s office the resettlements carried out as part of Operation „Wisła” („Vistula”) should be considered as ethnic cleansing, because they covered the entire Ukrainian community and mixed families, including those who did not live in the area of operations of the Ukrainian nationalist underground.
