Summary/Abstract: The author looks at how enough food production and water usage for everyone is attainable. Nevertheless, he writes that further conflict awaits if no progress is made. First, he points out the areas most likely to face food shortages and those affected by drought, floods, disease and pests, at the same time noting that the world produces enough food to feed its current population, the real problem being the lack of a workable mechanism to get this food to where it is most needed. In his opinion, storage and distribution are the two big challenges, compounded by conflict and poor governance in certain countries. In the end, he mentions the efforts made by international organisations to put these issues on their list of priorities, increase sustainable agriculture, develop food markets, boost farmers’ welfare and improve access to food for vulnerable groups.
