Summary/Abstract: In recent years, anger has begun to be recognized as a significant social problem worthy of clinical attention and systematic research. Currently, the treatment of choice worldwide for this issue is cognitive-behavioral therapy. This paper analyses the technique of this therapy called cognitive restructuring as a method of anger management with the aim of promoting emotional well-being and constructive conflict resolution while simultaneously suppressing the violent behavior stemming from that anger. There are various benefits to implementing such an approach in individuals with anger issues, but there are also some limitations that will be discussed in this paper. Additionally, the paper proposes specific prevention measures that could be applied even at the level of high schools and which should, theoretically, influence the reduction of intensity and qualitative change of the emotion of anger into a healthier emotion of dissatisfaction. Such programs could reduce the percentage of people seeking treatment in the future and change people's awareness of how anger arises and how it can be controlled.
