The Role of Józef Tejchma in the December 1970 Crisis. The Meanders of the Rivalry at the Top of the PZPR Leadership

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the role of Józef Tejchma during the December 1970 crisis. The author analyzes Tejchma’s actions, aiming to determine the importance of the role he played and his actions during the crisis. It presents his efforts to quickly end the clashes and minimize bloodshed, as well as his position during the strike of textile workers in Łódź in February 1971.
