On the unofficial name of single persons in the village of Nižná in the district of Piešťany

Summary/Abstract: In the paper, the author presented the distribution of naming models of living personal names of the class of single persons in the village of Nižná in the district of Piešťany. The structured review offered a comprehensive presentation of the unofficial (living) naming system in the given village, because in the functional-structural concept of the Slovak linguist and onomastist V. Blanár, naming models represent constitutive elements of the system of personal names. The author presented the microsystem of one village in district of Piešťany. The village of Nižná is located in the west of the district of Piešťany in the Trnava region, in the northeastern part of the Trnava loess hills near the middle course of the Výtok stream. According to the population census in 2021, there were 545 inhabitants in Nižná, 279 men and 266 women. The dialect of the village is included among the dialects of Považie.
