Summary/Abstract: In the content of the paper, I proceeded to carry out a brief analysis of the group of crimes through which the most important social values in the field of exercising electoral rights are defended. During the examination, I tried to highlight the constant concern of the Romanian legislator for the criminalization of such acts, starting with the first Criminal Code of the modern era of Romania, respectively the Criminal Code of 1864 and continuing with the Criminal Code of Charles II and the law in force . In order to highlight the importance given to this group of crimes, we also presented some examples from the jurisprudence of those times, as well as the opinions expressed by well-known authors in the field. It is significant that in the first two codes, both doctrine and jurisprudence claim that the crimes included in this distinct group are of a political nature. This opinion is abandoned by the current doctrine and jurisprudence, the subject being avoided by all specialists in this field. In our opinion, the subject remains open, following a deeper approach to it in future works. The novel elements of the present work are particularly aimed at the examination of crimes of this kind that were provided for in the first criminal codes in Romania. The work can be useful to students of specialized faculties in the country or abroad, as well as to those who study the facts included in this group.
