Summary/Abstract: In the majority of cases, objective cerification and assessment of the evidence collected is only possible with the help of forensic experiment, which makes it possible to test experimentally the veracity of the obtained information, the validity of the hypotheses and conclusions, as well as to reproduce the event in full volume, taking into account the mutual connections, certain details and particularities. On how proficient and enlightened the use of forensic experiment in the process of investigation and examination of criminal cases will depend the outcome of other evidentiary procedures as well as the investigation of criminal cases overall. The experiment appeared not by itself in the criminal process and not on an "empty" place. Despite the fact that the term "experiment" itself has existed and applied for some time, many prosecutions carried out before its inclusion in the Criminal Procedure Codes were essentially nothing more than certain experiments carried out in the course of criminal prosecution or judicial investigation. This aspect justifies the need for complex research into the emergence and development of the judicial experiment in criminal proceedings.
