Summary/Abstract: Violence against children and minors in Romania is a big problem and, as a result, an intensively addressed and researched topic in our country. Thus, this type of violence constitutes a phenomenon of a particular complexity that has long-term consequences in the development of the future adult person, first on the adolescent and, over time, on the adult, to whom it causes a serious vulnerability in day-to-day interpersonal relationships, perceiving the environment in which he lives as permanently hostile. In this context, more and more voices are saying that while failures in the economic field can be eradicated or reduced with the help of legislative regulations, failures regarding the education of our children, generating long-term consequences, are likely to seriously affect us national identity. In order to highlight and raise awareness of the seriousness of the reality behind this research topic, we have proposed to briefly present the most important aspects related to the serious spectrum of forms of violence that are exercised on children and minors in Romania, the consequences suffered by the victims, both in the short term and over a long period of time, as well as the main methods and means of effective prevention of violence against children and young people in our country. The presented case study is extremely relevant in the sense of the realities in Romania, regarding the way of treating and neglecting children, but also regarding how all this could be prevented, education being the watchword Research and study carried out are useful, to the same extent, to pupils, students, teachers, police officers and all persons involved in counseling activities, prevention and combating acts of violence committed against children and minors, both in rural and urban areas.
