Summary/Abstract: If war is a matter for adults, children are engaged in it willingly or by force. This commitment makes them, thereafter, witnesses of the scenes of war. Their testimonies seem to be the most valued by the authors. Ken Saro-Wiwa, Ahmadou Kourouma and Tierno Monénembo make children witness-narrators in their respective works: “Sozaboy”, “Allah n’est pas obligé” and “L’ainé des orphelins”. This contribution attempts to explain the reasons for choosing a child as narrator of war. Why does this linguistically incompetent person become the main speaker when it comes to gather testimonies on such a serious fact like war?
