Summary/Abstract: $is paper presents a study that focuses on how teaching materials used in teaching beginners-level learners of Finnish might in&uence the learning process in relation to writing skills. $e present research questions are: 1) Are there any signs that the vocabulary in the texts written by Swedish-speaking students has been in&uenced by the teaching material? 2) What kinds of in&uence can be seen in the student’s texts? 3) How do the students use the di'erent word classes? and 4) Which are the most frequent words in the student’s texts?
