Summary/Abstract: This article examines offensive vocabulary as an artistic means of achieving humor and irony in Ivan Vazov‘s work. The article examines profanity as part of the expressive stylistics that builds the comic in a literary text, but with a negative connotation. In this paper, insult is considered as a tool for rethinking values in communication in a linguistic and cultural environment. In the study, semantic models were used for arranging the modalities of the insult, a semiotic model for the classification of the objects of the offensive word, as well as a model for the analysis of the implicit in the offensive word.
