Summary/Abstract: The article deals with some actual issues related to the concepts of journalistic and journalistic style. The paper analyses two main problems facing contemporary Bulgarian linguists: the variety of media formats and the dynamics of linguistic processes reflected in them. The new real and virtual reality, which demands a rethinking of the styles and sub-styles of the Bulgarian language in view of the emergence of new and different types of media. Contemporary Bulgarian linguistics owes journalism a comprehensive interdisciplinary study dedicated to online media. The second issue is devoted to the specifics of training journalists with an emphasis on their basic training in Bulgarian. It also presents hypotheses related to language policy in the media; the abolition of the editorial and proofreading position in official publications.
