Summary/Abstract: The research interest in this article is focused on a relatively new and still unpopular method in our country – rating the competitive forces (CSR- Corporate Social Responsibility) and on the peculiarities of its application in the management of business crises. The conceptual characteristics of a business crisis are examined at the beginning and special attention is paid to the phases of its management. The intrinsic characteristics of CSR as a method of strategic research and decisions are high-lighted, as well as the more important methodological decisions in its use. Characteristics of different competitive conditions are exam-ined. Opportunities for the integrated use of CSR and PEST-analysis are evaluated in an effort to achieve better results in managing business crises. Advantages/argu-ments for a more active application of the method in corporate practice are outlined, and in particular - in managing business crises.
