Summary/Abstract: The article examines the values of academic youth in the uncertain modern world. The paper shows the consequences of uncertainty for young people in the context of the Covid pandemic and the Russian-inspired war in Ukraine. The pandemic and the war in Ukraine had a serious impact on various aspects of social, economic, cultural and political life. The article presents the results of an ethnographic study on the values of young people in today's world - it was conducted in November-December 2022, based on ethnographic questionnaire, comparative and interpretive methods. Fifty students of humanities at Vytautas Magnus University participated in the study. The respondents were divided by gender as follows: 38 females, 11 males and 1 other gender. The age of the students ranged from 18 to 29 years. Several questions were raised during the research: What challenges and problems did the young academics face during the COVID-19 quarantine and the war in Ukraine? What coping strategies did they discover? What lessons did they learn during this period of instability?
