Summary/Abstract: The article presents the scientific idea of a free and socially responsible psychological culture of the maritime professional personality, essential for maritime leadership, as the spiritual basis of its value-motivational level, in the perspective of possible research on maritime psychological culture. In the context of the International Maritime Organization training and application of leadership and teamwork in shipping, the article considers the value of a conscious, autonomous, prosocial maritime professional personality and the anthropological and axiological dimension of the formation of the professional personality, as a decisive spiritual condition for the development of prosocial leadership, as this plays a decisive ontological-spiritual role in nurturing leadership based on prosocial values and which is ignored by applied science and the maritime business.
