Summary/Abstract: The article offers a comparative analysis of the concepts of artistic integration of two influential figures in modern art and music in the early 20th century, Čiurlionis and the German-born American painter Feininger. It briefly examines Čiurlionis' unique concept of the interaction between painting and music during his mature sonata period. The analysis then shifts to Feininger's concept of musical painting, drawing parallels with Kandinsky and Klee, the leaders of the Blue Knight group. The influence of Bach's fugues on the musical painting of both artists is also highlighted. The article concludes with a detailed comparative analysis of Čiurlionis' and Feininger's concepts of artistic interaction, focusing on their common features and differences.
